Panic gripped after a bomb threat was emailed targeting the Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s residence and the state secretariat. The threat prompted an immediate evacuation of the secretariat premises, and all security agencies were placed on high alert.
According to the information received, the threat was delivered via email, explicitly stating plans to target the CM’s residence and the secretariat.
As per police sources, the message also mentioned a potential human IED attack.
Reacting swiftly, security forces evacuated the entire complex and deployed a bomb disposal squad to initiate a thorough search operation. Police conducted a detailed sweep of the area, and additional security was deployed at the CM’s residence.
DSP (Central) Udaypal Singh said that the email regarding threat was received by Haryana CID, which further informed the Chandigarh Police.
