The Mohali District Court has rejected the regular bail plea of Jarnail Singh Bajwa, managing director of Bajwa Developers Limited, in an alleged land fraud case.
This marks the fourth time Bajwa (55) has applied for bail in Case Number 28, registered against him. During the hearing, the police informed the court that Bajwa is facing 54 other similar cases, indicating a pattern of habitual criminal conduct.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Sucha Singh, who alleged that Bajwa fraudulently registered his land using fake documents.
In 2016, Bajwa Developers Limited began land acquisition for its ambitious Sunny Enclave mega project, covering Sectors 122, 123, 124, and 125. Sucha Singh’s land of 16 kanals and 2 marlas was part of the targeted area.
As per the complaint, Bajwa prepared a forged consent letter in Sucha Singh’s name and used it to obtain the approval from the GMADA.
